By giving from the heart, light and love spreads through the world. 'lala Seva' will indicate a bracelet whose sale will generate a donation to a particular organization stated in the description. There are so many people working to help others and create a better world for all of us to share. This inter-connection of our humanity is expressed in so many beautiful ways.
I truly believe we are all connected as beings on this Earth – that we all are created from the same essence and express this is varied ways as we walk this journey. Our experiences are our opportunities to grow and remember this beautiful energy. As each individual moves towards this higher vibration of consciousness and light, we all are elevated collectively as well. Our energies all pool together into a collective consciousness, shaping the whole of our cultures and societies.
There are so many beautiful souls on this planet putting in the work to elevate themselves and those around them. Part of my path is to try and support these people, by sparking conversations about different issues and supporting them and their organizations financially.
To this end, I will be creating specialized bracelets throughout the year, with a donation being made for each sale bracelet in that particular collection to the designated organization. These bracelets will be indicated by the ribbon “lala Seva.”
lala = light and love, ali
seva = selfless service to uplift others without regard to self
Seva is a Sanskrit word that describes the act of selfless service. It is formed by the two root words "saha" meaning 'with that' and "eva" meaning 'too', combining to mean "together with." Seva is an act of compassion and care for others above oneself. Selfless service is an important concept in Sikhism and yoga, as well as most Indian religions. The act of seva is performed without regard to the outcome for the individual and thus leads to collective benefit and gain.
By serving each other selflessly, we are reminded that we are all made of the same essence. It is by our connections and experiences that we grow as individuals and as a society. When we give of ourselves for the benefit of another without any motivation for ourselves, we are reminded of our sameness. Our differences begin to fade, sowing seeds of compassion and peace. When we examine new or uncomfortable issues and concepts, we also expand our awareness of how our human energy manifests in different beings in infinite ways.
The African culture expresses this concept of inter-relatedness and community in an eloquent way. This is the beautiful essence of Ubuntu. We learn who we are through our interactions with others who share our families, neighborhoods, cities, and world. Ubuntu is the human spirit at its highest, emphasizing the virtues society holds dear and seeking to share those virtues in a community of friendliness and collaboration. Archbishop Desmond Tutu illuminates this concept:
“One of the sayings in our country is Ubuntu – the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can’t exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can’t be human all by yourself, and when you have this quality – Ubuntu – you are known for your generosity. We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole World. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity.

I am grateful for your support of these organizations and individuals. I am grateful for each individual that looks at the world through a lens of light and love. I hope the lala Seva bracelets spark some conversations and actions to educate ourselves on some timely issues. May we all elevate our consciousness as individuals and collectively, helping to create a world where light and love shine brightly and abundantly.
